Instant success for Kifaru Baby
Kifaru Baby, the 13-meter aluminum boat from Cantiere Navale Italia, couldn't have a better debut.
Walking the docks at last Genoa Boat Show, you couldn't miss the Kifaru Baby: full aluminum structure to underline the aggressive look, and an extremely clear deck, where accessories are hidden and pop out only when needed. The whole exterior and interior project, as well as the naval architecture, is by the renowned Luca Dini.
Let's get aboard Kifaru Baby
First, shocking impact comes by the futuristic dashboard : developed by HYPERLINK "http://www.cantierenavaleitalia.com/" n _blankCantiere Navale Italia in cooperation with Naviop, it consists of a unique and even piece, hiding full domotics in order to give the owner the chance to command the boat without crew.
To bow of Kifaru Baby a lifting table is sheltered by a bimini top with carbon-fiber structure. To aft a walk around solarium can also be sheltered and leads to the swim platform, covered in teak and completed with a full-height telescopic shower.
Another interesting solution comes with the ladder: an electro-hydraulic platform 1.20x1.00 meters large, designed by CNI technical office specifically for Kifaru Baby.
An aluminum hardtop hosts the safety and communication devices, with the bold looking windscreen to combine form and function. Belowdecks, the layout provides a cabin with a double bed, an ample heads with hower box, and a full galley.
The choice of aluminum for the construction has been strongly pursued by Cantiere Navale Italia, as they wanted to go for the most sophisticated, light and sturdy material on the market in order to target Kifaru Baby to an expert clientele. Boaters who look a technological and stylish look for a unique boat.
Among the several advantages of aluminum, we remind the low maintenance, the sturdiness, the lightness. Navigation is made more efficient by the chance to mount smaller engines without hindering performance and reducing fuel consumption. Kifaru Baby is powered by two diesel Yanmars, 370 HP each, coupled to sterndrives. In this configuration top speed is around 45 knots. Shaft transmissions are still available upon request.
The planing hull sports a 16.8° deadrise and longitudinal skids to enhance dynamic stability. The hull design for Kifaru Baby has been supported by hundreds of hours of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) simulations, to define the most efficient shape and evaluate performance, resistance, setup, and flows at different speeds.
