2025 innovation: Mylius 47P, power amplified to the max
Unveiled at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2024, the Mylius 47P is the second motorboat from the renowned sailing-focused Mylius shipyard. This 16-meter open yacht boasts a fiercely sporty pedigree, both in its design and its powertrain, featuring four Mercury Racing engines, 500 hp each.
A long-standing name in sailing yacht production, the Piacenza-based Mylius made its motorboat debut last year with the Mylius 62P trawler. This year, they’ve raised the bar with the jaw-dropping Mylius 47P, an extraordinary 16-meter open yacht.
Why so extraordinary? The renders—currently the only images available—immediately convey its unleashed energy. Add to that the raw power of four 500-hp Mercury Racing outboards, specially tuned for even greater performance.
This explosive power is further enhanced by a double-stepped hull, which reduces drag, accelerates planing, and propels the boat swiftly to high speeds.
Packed with adrenaline, the Mylius 47P doesn’t compromise on versatility. Its blend of sleek, sharp lines and rounded shapes makes it not only a stylish open yacht but also one equally at home racing at 55 knots, cruising leisurely, or serving as a luxurious tender in the garage of a megayacht.
It’s no surprise that an inboard engine version is also available, equipped with twin Volvo Penta IPS650 engines delivering 480 hp each. This configuration is estimated to propel the boat to a top speed of 40 knots, with an economical cruising speed of 20 knots.
Another noteworthy feature of the Mylius 47P is its Category A certification, meaning it is designed, equipped, and built for unrestricted navigation, just like ocean-going boats.
Mylius 47P - Deck
On board, the Mylius 47P showcases meticulous design aimed at maximizing the usability of spaces and furnishings for all guests.
This is evident in the well-appointed and spacious deck layout, which is ideal for cruising and also practical for use as a tender when exploring coastal bays.
In the cockpit, a central sunpad is complemented by a dinette with two opposing sofas that can seat up to ten people. There's also a galley unit as wide as the sofas and the now-standard fold-down bulwarks at the stern. These not only expand the walkable cockpit area but also create two spacious diving platforms.
The central alignment of the furnishings and helm station along the deck allows for a walkaround layout. A well-defined, protected perimeter walkway runs to midship, guarded by raised gunwales. From there, two steps lead to the bow deck, which offers a full-beam surface that can double as a sunbathing area.
Mylius 47P – Below-deck layout
On the lower deck, the Mylius 47P can accommodate up to four people in two cabins, both with private bathrooms and designed for maximum privacy. The cabins are separated by a service area, with each accessible through its own entrance.
The owner’s cabin is located forward and features a double bed, wardrobes, and ample storage spaces. The en-suite bathroom includes a separate shower stall.
The second cabin is optional and situated aft, with access from the cockpit. It comes with two single beds and a separate bathroom, making it suitable for two guests or, if preferred, for crew accommodation.
